Introduction of Truck Crankshaft
Crankshaft is an important part of the internal combustion engine. The Crankshaft bears the gas pressure, inertia and moment of inertia while it is working. The bearing force is large and complex.
It is inevitable that the truck crankshaft steel should have high fatigue strength and wear resistance as well as high hardenability with small deformation under high temperature and high creep strength.
Material Available for truck crankshaft
The material should has high strength, a certain degree of toughness, enough bending ability, torsion fatigue strength, stiffness, and wear resistance.
Example: 35, 40, 45, 35Mn2, 40Cr, 35CrMo Steel. ZG230-450, QT600-3, QT700-2, KTZ450-5, KTZ500-4, etc
The agriculture uses tractor crankshaft don’t require high power, the load is not very large. However, the journal bearing needs a higher hardness and wear resistant. The performance requirements: σb ≥ 750MPa, the overall hardness: 240HBS ~ 260HBS, journal surface hardness ≥ 625HV , δ ≥ 2%, ak ≥ 150 kJ / m2. Crankshaft material: QT700-2.
